Constitution Hill
Over 300 Wits University leaders gathered to debate the many problems facing students in the wake of #FeesMustFall. The event was opened by Dr Mathews Phosa; and the panel included students Tami Pooe, Social and Community Development Officer at Wits SRC; Tshidiso Ramogale, Human Rights Commission and a 2014 M&G 200 Young South African; and Cherise Walker, Gender Campaign at Students for Law and Social Justice. SRC President, Nompendulo Mkhatshwa challenged the students to “properly understand the pros and cons of the Constitution in order to advance the plight of the youth.”
The dynamic discussion has sparked an enthusiasm for a series of similar forums at universities across the country.
